Polar fleece is also called "sheep fleece", mainly because it is related to "sheep", and its performance is almost infinitely close to that of wool. As for why it is called shaken, it is because there is a shaken process in its process to reduce lint and pilling.
The main component of polar fleece is polyester fiber, which is a small ingot knitted structure and is woven on a circular knitting machine. After being woven, the gray fabric is first dyed and then processed through multiple complex finishing processes such as napping, carding, shearing, and polarization. After treatment, the front side of the fabric is napped, and the fleece is fluffy and dense but not easy to shed or pill. The back side is napped sparsely and evenly, with less fluff, clear tissue texture, and good fluffiness. As a substitute for wool fabrics, polar fleece not only has a strong thermal insulation function, but is also lightweight, soft, and quick-drying. According to tests, under the same conditions, the cold-proof performance of polar fleece is twice that of wool and four times that of cotton.
Polar fleece can be divided into plain color and printed polar fleece. Plain polar fleece can be divided into striped polar fleece, embossed polar fleece, jacquard polar fleece, etc.; printed polar fleece can be divided into different colors depending on the printing paste used. It is divided into more than 200 designs and colors such as penetration printing, glue printing, and transfer printing color strips.
